An abandoned house in a field I pass by when I go to work ...
Living in the land of sun, small towns, welcoming people. Daily (or nearly so) photos of Belpasso (Sicily) and the island - this is my home for the forseeable future. Please leave a comment, if only to say hello ... it's always good to hear from friends both old and new ...

OLD JAIL CELL IN RANDAZZO
Talk about low tolerance for crime.
Jail cell from the late 1800's and earlier ... the person was walled into it and left ... there were four of these cells in one of the museums we saw in Randazzo last Sunday.

NEAT SIGN - NOT COMPLETELY SURE WHAT IT SAYS ...
It looks to say that Sr. Paolo Vagliasindi, in parliment and in government, he was a champion of liberty and that his work was noble and lives on in the history of the world ... there is something about unripe cut (immaturamente troncata) ... it may be that his life's work went uncompleted due to some event. He lived in the late 19th century and the Randazzo Archaeological Museum is located in what was his home.

SIGNS ...SIGNS ... EVERYWHERE ARE SIGNS ...
Sign directing visitors to the Swabian Castle in Randazzo (town in Catania province). During WW2, most of Randazzo was distroyed - fortunately the castle was not.
Going to share local signs for a few posts ... enjoy!
